Pitch-In Returns: 50 Founders, 77 Pieces of Feedback

BootSector re-launches Pitch-In, a monthly founder feedback event. First two events drew 50 attendees each, generating 77 and 65 pieces of feedback.

We've been busy, we figured it's time to talk about it.

Pitch-In for Success

This summer, BootSector re-launched a previously beloved event back into the community. Pitch-In is a monthly event offering the opportunity for founders to pitch their ideas and companies in exchange for community feedback. The results?

A success for our first two events!

On June 7 we hosted the first event at CBLS. There were 50 people in attendance, 3 entrepreneur presenters generating 77 pieces of feedback, and 10 new connections for the entrepreneurs. On July 12 we hosted our second event at Seneca One with 3 new presenters, and 50 attendees generating 65 pieces of feedback, and 19 new connections for the entrepreneurs.

Want to get in on the action? Our next event is August 2 at the Innovation Center @ CBLS, 701 Ellicott Street.

Community Builders to Know: Meet Jordan

Jordan Walbesser (404 Link Removed) has been an active member of the startup community for years.

"I believe that entrepreneurship is a key component to the promise of the American Dream. And when it comes to the American Dream, Western New York is a special and storied place. We have a long and rich history of entrepreneurship and startup culture." says Walbesser, who's ultimate mission is playing a role in WNY's community success.

As a member of Mattel's legal team, President of the UB Engineering Alumni Association, and VP of BootSector, there isn't much that isn't in Jordan's wheelhouse.

WNY Startups on Fire

Yamu Media was founded in 2020, catalyzed by the effects that the pandemic was having on the world.

The digital marketing agency set out to approach the industry from a more scientific standpoint. And it's working.

The organization tripled in size over the past few months and they have no intention of slowing down any time soon.

Brandon Sanzo (404 Link Removed) , a partner at Yamu, attributes their growth to 'having an amazing support system from the community and a clear vision internally'.

Founder and CEO, Kanishka Wanninayaka, recently spoke with Buffalo Business Journal (404 Link Removed) about their successes.

What does the Yamu team want most? To stick to their mission of empowering intentional leaders to achieve dreams and scale impactful companies.
